Summer Begins to Heat UP!

Hey Friends,

Well life has been full of surprise and wonder, both for us, and for our new puppy, Juno! She is full of energy, observes everything (i.e. you can’t get anything past her…) and the novelty and joy in her eyes while learning how to be a touring dog has been amazing to witness!  She’s 35 lbs of love and spunk at 4 months old, and already knows many fun tricks and commands.  She even takes direction from others, which is a must since she is going to be a village dog!

So our early mornings are now full of exercising the pup, what we call “taking her for a drag” because the first block or so she hunkers down, won’t budge, and tries to escape her harness, while chewing on her leash. This is both frustrating and comical, and as the song goes, “you just have to laugh….or you’ll go crazy.”  We try to get most everything done while she’s napping, and are helping her learn that the kennel is her friend, not her enemy, so we can have a life too.

So “where did June go?”  Or in our case, “where did Juno go!?”  Ha!  She finally knows her name after a month. Whether or not she chooses to come when called by her name is another story.  She definitely has her own ideas about how things should go, and despite numerous chew toys about, she insists on chewing on us as well!  Ah, puppy love….we look forward to the chance for you to meet her someday soon before she becomes a BIG DOG!

So since June is now behind us, and the 4th of July is soon upon us, we wanted to wish you a fabulous holiday and hope you’re doing something fun with friends and loved ones.  Here’s our Stanley schedule for those of you that may be up in the mountains.
